I’m Going To Be A Dad: Unique Photographs Full Of Reactions

If you are a parent, you probably remember the first time you found out you were going to be someone’s mommy or daddy. It’s like one of those moments in time we’ll never forget. I only have one child, and he’s ten years old now, but I will never forget exactly where I was when I found out he was growing inside of me. I will also never forget the hundred dollars or so that I spent on drugstore pregnancy tests because I was convinced they were all wrong. “99% accuracy? Hmm… No way I’m pregnant, I’m sure I’m falling into that 1% over and over and over.” Of course, once our baby is born, our heart grows to about ten times its normal size, and it pretty much stays there forever.

Do you remember telling your friends and family about it? These days, I see a lot of people make such announcements on Twitter and Facebook. Although I’m pro-social media in almost every situation, in this case, there is a lot lost by sharing that news in a tweet or Facebook update. Just look at the faces of the people below, and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Photographer Tom Robinson decided to photograph his friends and family as he told them the news that he and his wife were going to have a baby. Since they are used to him always taking pictures of them, it wasn’t awkward at all. He simply looked out from behind the camera and said, “Guess what? I’m going to be a dad” and then snap snap snap. He says none of these pictures are staged; they are all genuine reactions. You can see many more pictures from this collection on Tom Robinson Photography. I just love this!

Aww… Parents are always good for a dramatic reaction, especially when they’re sitting in a camper.

The guy in the middle is thinking, “What a minute, what did you just say?”

Dude, you interrupted our game for that?

This is what someone’s face looks like as they are screaming, “FUCK!” (it’s true)

I love the “sister finds out she’s going to be an aunt” reaction on Skype. Nice!

Um… I don’t think this guy likes kids. #justsayin

The news was so shocking, it made my hair stand up.
