Montblanc Fountain Pen Porn To Drool Over

When I graduated from University, one of the first gifts I received was my very own Montblanc fountain pen. It made me feel all luxurious whenever I used it, kind of like the feeling you get from wearing a really nice pair of shoes. I quickly learned that having a sophisticated pen is not only something to treasure and appreciate, but it can be an impressive accessory. I still have that same Montblanc fountain pen today, and I’ve added a few more to my collection. High quality pens are like nice shoes in another way too – Women are usually loyal to their favorite designers, and for me that is definitely true.

When I saw this pen collection, my jaw dropped. I’ve never seen pens like this before. All of these are Montblanc fountain pens, but some of them that you see here are part of the Skeleton collection which they released for their 75th anniversary. Since I can’t find anything about the Skeleton collection on the Montblanc website itself, I’m not 100% sure this is true. However, based on things I’ve read on some pretty reputable sites, these are real Montblanc fountain pens.

There is more to this story though than just the incredible pen porn…Do you have any idea how much these pens cost? They range from $20,000 to $88,000! Can you imagine spending that much for a pen? I have no doubt they are a marvel in craftsmanship up close, and they even have a sort of steampunk feel to them. If I owned one of these, I would probably pull it out to use at a store and then accidentally leave it there on the counter. There are a whole bunch of these pens on sale right now on ebay. Whoa! This is almost as nuts to me as the bottle of Black Diamond Nail Polish that costs $250,000. Believe it or not, these pens aren’t even close to being the most expensive ones in the world though. For example, the Tibaldi’s Fulgor Nocturnus pen sold for 8 million dollars at an auction in 2010. If you would like to see the entire photo collection, just click over to Flickriver.
