My mother always told me not to play with my food when I was young, which is probably why I’m fascinated with people who play with their food as adults. There are some artists who create the most incredible edible creations from ordinary food. We’ve seen beautiful portraits carved in an Oreo cookie, a $1,000 popsicle sprinkled with real gold, and even panties created from knitting noodles. However, I have never seen painted marshmallows before today. This is crazy cool.
All of the incredibly painted marshmallows you see below were created by Meaghan Mountford. Meaghan is the wildly successful foodie, blogger and author behind The Decorated Cookie. I keep seeing her cookie creations pop up on blogs all the time, so I decided to dedicate a post specifically to her painted marshmallows. According to her website, she not only paints marshmallows, but she also decorates cookies, cupcakes and other sweets. She especially loves foods on sticks. I do too Meaghan!
I’m not very motivated to learn how to paint a marshmallow myself. I’m perfectly happy just to write about it. However, if you would like to learn this craft, Meaghan also generously provides several tutorials on her site, including what exactly to buy and how to plan for it. You can click over to The Decorated Cookie to check all this out for yourself. In the meantime, take a look at these incredible marshmallows and let yourself be inspired. Hmm… They are almost too pretty to eat!
