Another day… another viral Reddit post… no, seriously, you gotta see this, it’s nuts. As a side note, Reddit hit 2 million users yesterday, so congratulations Reddit! As I’ve written before, I’m a huge fan of that site. I’ve followed their success story, and it’s truly inspiring. If you read about it, it will remind you that anything is possible. If you are getting bored with the usual sites you’ve been hanging out on, pop over there. It’s a great place to spend some time while you procrastinate doing whatever it is you don’t want to be doing.
I’m no stranger to food carvings, and as a matter of fact, I’ve seen some pretty crazy Watermelon Carvings before, but I have never ever seen anything like what Shawn Freeney did with these watermelons and pineapples.
I have so many questions about this, and I don’t even know where to start. How long did it take to make this? Did he get all sticky in the process? What happened to all the watermelon he carved out? Was this carving commissioned, or did he just make it just for the fun of it? Where did he get his inspiration? How is the middle of the sculpture being supported in these pictures? I could go on and on and on… Some artists just have talents that are beyond what I can comprehend.
