WTF: The Chopped-Off Hand iPhone Case

I love featuring products from Japan because they are always so different than what we have in the States. I mean different in a good way. They never fail to give us a different perspective and make us want to look at the pictures. Every time I write about one, I think there is no way we’ll see something again that will be able to top what we’ve already written about. Then, of course, something else comes along that is so much fun I have to write about it again. From now on, I’m just going to expect products from Japan to be deliciously unusual, creative, and always in the ‘WTF” category.

We’ve seen a lot of iPhone cases and covers over the years. It’s a huge business, and people love to change them out to express their personality. The thing I’ve noticed is that the iPhone cases made in the States that we are most drawn to are the ones that are completely geeky; however, the iPhone cases made in Japan that we like the best aren’t geeky, they are unusual. For example, this Japanese iPhone cover with rice and unagi (freshwater eel) is so realistic looking that it makes my mouth water every time I just look at the pictures.

Here we go again…. Below you’ll see the Japanese severed hand iPhone case. It will help you feel like you are holding someone’s hand each time you answer your phone. Kinda cozy, huh? Well, I mean, I’m sure latex isn’t warm and fuzzy to touch, but you get the idea. Apparently it comes in an adult hand and a child’s hand. You can always practice proposing by slipping an engagement ring on this fake hand’s finger also (you can see that below). Schweeeeet! Um, yeah. If you would like to purchase one, you can go here or here. It’s around $65. I know, it’s expensive, right? Just remember it’s still cheaper than chopping off someone’s real hand. #justsayin
