I love to read. Even when there is online stuff that is interesting to read, I still enjoy reading books, especially the books that are made into a movie. Most of my friends read the book versions of movies before they actually watch the film. I don’t really mind watching the movie and then reading the book. There are certain movies that remain true to the written version of the story, while others take a different approach. I often find that the book version is better than the movie version.
I found a book that will thrill any Star Wars fan. It was written by New York Times best-selling author J. W. Rinzler and produced with four time Academy Awards sound designer Ben Burtt. What is so cool about this book is that it tells the history of sound designing in the Star Wars movies. The book has a built in exterior speaker and a headphone jack that will allow readers to listen to 250 unique sound effects from our favorite Star Wars sagas. Plus, it includes over 300 pictures and illustrations of the movie’s most memorable scenes. You can buy a copy of the book at Chronicle Books for $60. I have included a clip to give you a glimpse of how the book was produced, and what went into the process of creating an awesome piece of history.
