I know all the Game of Thrones fans out there are counting the days until Season 3 starts on Sunday, March 31, 2013. There are a dozen or so new characters that will be introduced in this new season, and if you want to check them out, you can hit up this Game of Thrones forum (beware – there could be spoilers in there). I thought it might be fun to share some Game of Thrones love today with these gorgeous wallpapers.
Game of Thrones has been nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards, ten Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards (the results of both will be announced in September) and several other awards. I have to admit; I’ve never seen the show. It’s really for no other reason than the fact that I don’t watch television. But my dear friend and guest writer here on Bit Rebels, Andrea, is planning to send me the first two seasons in the mail. Now I’ll be able to pop the DVDs in my laptop and get caught up in no time, and I’ll be all ready to go when the new season starts.
Sasha Vinogradova, a Russian artist, created these beautiful wallpapers for your enjoyment. She writes, “Print these out and paste them on flash cards so you can remember your major Houses of Westeros…there’ll be a test later. Failing grades will result in public beheading.” You can learn more about Sasha and check out more of her art on Behance or on deviantART (~Melaamory). If you need more GoT love to get your fix while the show is on hiatus, check out the Game of Thrones facebook page which is updated often. When I was there, I found these incredible Works of the Realm photos which are from the Game of Thrones tumblr.
