Floppy drive music is always fun to listen to. It’s not inspiring like regular music in a tune kind of way, but more in a geek kind of way. There is nothing that will put a smirky smile on your face quite the same way as modding some old computer equipment so it plays a song. These kinds of customizations aren’t new, but they also never get old. The last time I wrote about floppy drive music was about 6 months ago when I wrote about the floppy drive duo that plays the Imperial March. That was sure something to see (and hear).
For today’s floppy drive music, I’d like to share with you eight floppy drives that work in unison to play the famous James Bond theme song. When people set out to create this type of thing, I always wonder how they decide on the song. I mean, the Imperial March and the James Bond theme song are both so perfect for floppy drives, don’t you think?
This was built to display at Purdue University for the Association of Electrical Technologists club during Technology Week. The purpose of the club is to help students with projects outside the classroom. Nice job! There are links, etc. there that could help you get started if you’d like to create something like this for yourself.
