Retro Hotrod PC Case Inspired By The Christine Car From The 1983 Movie

John Carpenter is such a talented, unique movie director. “Vampires” is my favorite John Carpenter movie, but then there is also the horror movie classic “Christine” from 1983 that’s also a great one. If you’ve never seen it, it’s basically a movie about an evil car. That Christine car went on to become a legendary hotrod, and here is a Google Images link so you can see what it looks like. If you are a fan of that Christine car, you are going to love this retro PC mod which is inspired by that one and only evil hotrod.

It was created by TBCS Community Forum user bschott back in 2003. He wanted to create a case mod based on an old car, and what better choice than the Christine car? This was his first gaming PC from back in the day. He started out with the original dual 5 1/4 floppy IBM PC. The grill is from a 1960s Studebaker Hawk. The headlights, as you see in the pictures, actually work!

This Christine car PC mod (which as I mentioned was created back in 2003) doesn’t look nearly as fancy as some of the PC mods we see today, especially the Steampunk mods, but it’s a classic mod with tons of nostalgic, retro flavor. Over the years, this Christine car mod has been featured in several magazines and television shows. The guy who made this beauty, bschott, probably doesn’t have this PC anymore. After all, that was 10 years ago! On second thought, maybe he does have it. Maybe it’s on display on a shelf somewhere.

If you are in the mood to watch a classic horror movie (which really isn’t scary by today’s standards), I suggest the movie about the old, red, evil hotrod named Christine (or any other John Carpenter classics like “Escape From New York,” “They Live” or “The Thing”).
