Video Game Controllers Upcycled Into Office Supplies

If you are like me, you have tons of video game controllers at your house. They are stuffed in whatever cabinets and drawers will hold them, and many of them are covered in dust since they are old or defective. For whatever reason, it’s hard to get rid of them, even when we don’t use them anymore. There is just something about them that will always be nostalgic, and I don’t think I’ve gotten rid of mine, ever. If I searched in my basement, I could probably find my Atari joystick from the ’80s. Even recycling them makes me feel uneasy because I don’t want their original use to be destroyed or broken down to create something new. I want them to remain intact because each one represents a moment in time and a special memory.

If you are a gamer, you know what exactly what I mean. Luckily for us video game lovers, Etsy user GreenCub has come to the rescue. GreenCub, run by Graeme Abraham, upcycles game equipment for the office. He takes old and defective video game gadgets and turns them into office supplies. For example, he transforms controllers from N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, etc. into little desk caddies that hold pens and paperclips (the ultimate office necessities). They also each have a useful little USB extension. Save some landfill space and get a huge helping of geek cred all at the same time for only $16 here. I’d like one of each please!
