I never knew how magical a piece of paper could be until I started writing for Bit Rebels back in 2009. Since then, we’ve featured so many mouth watering papercraft designs it could make your head spin around if you tried to view it all in one day. If you add to this the origami creations we’ve written about, well, let’s just say if you are like me, you’ll never look at a simple piece of paper the same again.
We’ve seen Link papercraft sculptures before, but never anything this fantastic. I’m not sure if it’s the precise details, the fact that it’s life-size, the nature background, or the quality of the photographs themselves, but this particular Link papercraft design blows my mind.
The deviantARTist named studioofmm (Michaela) created this, and she worked on it constantly, twelve hours or more each day, for a whole month to complete him. According to her deviantART page, “Link is a life-size papercraft model standing around 5’5. He is made completely from 250 gsm paper (about 4x stronger than normal paper). He can stand on his own without any support. Link is made from 250+ pages, the initial template is 198, but there are layers of strips of paper inside for support, and 831 pieces.” If you would like advice on how to go about making one of these for yourself, you can contact Michaela through deviantART. She has graciously offered to help anyone who needs it. Wow, you’ve got some mad talent girl! This is incredible! Congratulations on your papercraft success.
