4 Ways To Get Healthier On Your Lunch Break

Work can get in the way of a lot of things, most importantly our health. Millions upon millions of people suffer from work-related stress every year while sitting at desks overs little exercise and can pose health risks of its own. But there are ways to get healthier in all that stress and the key is your lunch break.

It can be tough to find the time to think about getting active or healthy. There are kids to run to school in the morning, mouths to feed in the evening after all. But what about that hour you get smack, bang in the middle of the day?

The lunch break is a great time to work out or consider doing something healthy. Not only is it good for your health, it’ll benefit your afternoon of work too. Here are a few ways you can make your lunch breaks that little bit healthier.

1. Follow A Fitness App

Most fitness apps have bitesize workouts or diets for you to enjoy, all very much perfect for the lunch break. Weight watchers, Jillian Michaels and eDiets, offers great bitesize workouts framework, each of them with a different approach and style. You can read more on Bestonlinereviews.com and decide which workout program is the best for you.

2. Head To The Gym

Heading to the gym on your lunch break may not sound the greatest idea in the world, but not only will it be quieter than it would be before or after office hours, you’ll also feel re-energized for your afternoon.

You’ll get the blood flowing and the endorphins pumping. The mid-afternoon lull of a big meal sitting on your stomach will be a thing of the past and you’ll find yourself not only fitter after an hour in the gym but more productive too.

3. Yoga

Yoga is becoming an incredibly popular lunchtime exercise at lunchtime with classes held all over the world. Many businesses will bring yoga instructors in to hold shorter classes during lunch hours.

There are also plenty of apps out there to help you do your own self-taught practices during the lunch break. It’ll be incredible the difference it makes. After being sat at a desk all day, stretching it out will kick your body back into shape and over time there will be noticeable differences in your body and mind.

4. Lunch Break Walk

Perhaps the most important thing to do on your lunch is getting some fresh air. Whether that be out for a walk, jog, or run, a bit of fresh air will revitalize you ahead of an afternoon. And let’s face it, it’ll be a welcome break from the hot, crowded office you’ve been breathing in all morning.

Fresh air is perfect for calming down after a tough morning and it’ll blow the cobwebs away from a boring morning staring at a screen. It’s the ultimate reset button, and we all need one of those from time to time.
