There’s no question that McDonald’s french fries are America’s favorite. I have yet to eat french fries that are better than those. They are a classic in American culture, and so delicious. I remember a few months ago when I wrote about some research which compared popular fast food restaurants in social media (McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Burger King, Subway, Dunkin’ Donuts, Pizza Hut, etc.). It ranked each one of these restaurants based on several different factors, and McDonald’s scored the highest in multiple areas. You can read about that on Social Media Fast Food Restaurant Burger War.
If you are a marketer, I hope you’ve been paying attention to what McDonald’s has been doing over the past six months or so because it’s brilliant. It is no doubt the reason why they are number one in fast food social media and also the fastest growing fast food restaurant in social media. They are quickly becoming in a category of their own.
To over simply it all, they’ve been taking questions from fans and producing video content to answer the questions. The videos are so well done that they go viral many times. It’s a marketing plan that’s working well for them, and even though I’m not a big fan of fast food, it’s making me like and respect the McDonald’s brand a lot. They have a knack for choosing the questions that we all want to know the answers to. In this particular video, they answer questions from fans about their famous McDonald’s french fries.
Have you ever wondered how McDonald’s french fries are made? Are they made from real potatoes? Are McDonald’s french fries cut or processed and molded? What kind of oil are they cooked in? How much salt is sprinkled on them? Many people around the world are in love with McDonald’s french fries, and all of these questions, and many more, are completely valid. Watch the video below, which was produced by McDonald’s in Canada, to get all these answers.
