Riding A Swing Over A Cliff In Ecuador Is Bucket List Worthy [10 Pics]

I was looking at my bucket list this morning, and I realized that if I’m going to experience everything on my list in my lifetime, I better get going. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, which is from the movie The Shawshank Redemption. It reminds us to “Get busy living or get busy dying.” When I saw this swing which swings over a cliff in a mountainous region of Ecuador, I knew I had to add going there to my ever-growing bucket list.

It’s called the Swing At The End Of The World, and it’s a tourist attraction unlike any other. In order to get there, you have to hike up the path to Bellavista from Banos, Ecuador. When you see the treehouse, you know you’re there. You could just breathe in the incredible view, but if you are feeling adventurous, you could actually swing on this swing which will take you out over a cliff.

This swing has no seatbelt, no safety harness and no assurance that you won’t go plummeting down into the canyon to your death. I imagine it would be like being one with nature, thus making it bucket list worthy. There are tons of photos online where you can see people swinging over a cliff to experience the adrenaline rush on this swing. I put a collection of them below for you.

The most fascinating pictures I could find are the ones with the little boy and girl. You can see them below. They are swinging on that swing like it’s just a regular swing in the park. They have no fear at all, and the little boy even looks like he falls into the grass, right at the edge of the cliff, while he’s pushing the girl. That must have been a magical day for them, and they’ll probably remember it forever.
