As living spaces get smaller around the world, creative space saving furniture and home decor is becoming more popular. I have a few pieces of convertible furniture myself, and they’re my favorites. You can customize them for whatever you need at the moment, and they always have more than one use. We’ve written about several furniture designs that even fold into small pieces that can be tucked away when they’re not being used.
Today I’d like to share a space saving desk for two that transforms into a dining table big enough for six people. The interesting thing about this table is that it can transform in seconds. Not only that, but each individual function is so different. As a desk for two, it’s perfect since it’s even comes with drawers and a divider. What a nifty little work desk to have at home. However, it’s just as nice as a large dining table with it’s clean, smooth wood surface.
This space saving piece of practical furniture was created by Daniel Liss. I read a couple years ago that dining rooms in new homes were being replaced with home offices. This piece of convertible furniture allows that room to be a home office or a dining room, depending on what you need that day. It’s simple lines and basic look only add to its charm.
Unfortunately, this isn’t a mass produced product yet so you can’t really go anywhere to buy it. However, Daniel is working to change that. Hopefully someday soon this desk / dining table will be available for purchase. This would be perfect for university students living in an apartment. Space saving designs like this will only become more popular as people continue to live simpler lives in smaller spaces.
