They say that when you are about to die, you see your life pass before your eyes. Do you think that is true?
My own father died right in front of me, and I know that in the minutes before he closed his eyes for the last time, he faintly smiled, recalling details from his past like walking on the beach with his blue jeans rolled up on the bottom.
I was really moved when I saw this award winning 42 second super short film by Chris Milk. This film, entitled “Last Day Dream” was originally produced for the “42 Second Dream Film Festival” in Beijing, China. This film shows what it might be like to see your life pass before your eyes.
Also worth mentioning here is the “42 Second Dream Film Festival.” I was very inspired by their website, it reads, “We all share the waking world, our wanderings and struggles. But half of our lives are spent asleep, perfectly alone with our dreams. Dreams have been an inspiration to artists for millennia, and the source of creativity for some of the most visionary figures in our history.”
Definitely check out their site at https://42×42.com – Named such since they “commissioned 42 top filmmakers to give their 42 second visions, 42 second hearts and souls – to the dreams that continue to haunt, delight and inspire them.”

I’d like to ask you a question. If today was your last day, what would you remember? What would be in your Last Day Dream? This is a profound question. It brings tears to my eyes.
