Select Smart Speakers For Making Audiobooks Come Alive In 2021

Most folks who spend a lot of time driving love to listen to loud rock-n-roll or rap on their high-end car speakers which can be equipped with some deep bottom producing subwoofers. But in 2021, audiobooks are becoming more and more popular not only with drivers who love to listen to them during their morning and evening work commutes but also while they’re lounging around the house.

According to a recent report, audiobook popularity is growing by leaps and bounds. So much so, that drivers are forgoing their music for audiobooks. Listening to the books can be as easy as accessing them on a smart speaker that’s got the Amazon Alexa Artificial Intelligence (AI) voice built in.

But this doesn’t mean you need to buy speakers engineered by Amazon. Amazon is simply an online store. Instead, you can choose from a number of both stationary and mobile speaker systems that will enable you to listen to audiobooks at home or on the go.

However, speaker systems accessed by Alexa, or a similar AI device, can make your life a heck of a lot easier when it comes to audiobook selection and listening. Here just a few smart speaker systems that will get you up and running with professionally produced audiobooks in 2021 and beyond.

3rd Generation Amazon Echo

Like all the speakers that bear the Amazon logo, the flagship Amazon Echo speaker offers you the flexibility of using voice commands to ask Alexa to read your book for you. All you have to do is ask something like, “Alexa, what mystery books do I have in my audio library?” or you can say, “Read the new mystery/thriller novel by Vincent Zandri or Lee Child,” or “What new bestselling business nonfiction books are available on Audible or Apple?” The type and selection of audiobooks currently available on the market today are limited only to your imagination.

Miguel and Modern Fidelity MODFI-7 Speaker

This brand new wireless speaker is said to “fuse all of the vital elements for a powerful stereo experience.” It’s engineered with a core technology for a highly efficient co-axial compression horn driver, along with a neodymium magnet, and a 5.25-inch long stroke woofer.

It will give you all the highs and lows you’re seeking out of a professional audiobook performance. It’s also sports wireless connectivity to Apple, Amazon, Google, Bluetooth, plus you can connect directly to your car stereo or home audio system with a wire.

Echo Flex

You can use the Echo Flex as an add-on to your existing car stereo system, just by plugging it into the power outlet and synching it with Bluetooth tech. Or, if you don’t care all that much about sound quality, you can just listen via the built-in speaker. Its voice command capability, by means of Alexa AI, gives you the hands-free safety you need when motoring your car, truck, or Jeep down long stretches of highway. Perfect for long road trips.

Yoto Speaker For Kids

In 2021 kids are more addicted to screens than ever before now that they are exposed to smartphones and tablets. Enter the Yoto Speaker system. Designed with little kids in mind, it will keep them entertained with stories from their favorite audiobooks and podcasts.

For a change, the kids can use their imaginations to paint a picture of what’s being described on the page or, in this case, over the audiobook and its accompanying speaker system. While most smart speaker systems will do the same job, they are not truly kid-friendly like the Yoto claims to be.

Parents can rest easy when they leave their kids alone with this wireless speaker system, knowing their young ones aren’t able to tap into a story that’s rated higher than G. It also contains a nightlight for kids who like to fall to sleep to their favorite stories.

Sonos One Speaker System

Said to offer up the “signature Sonos sound,” this single speaker unit boasts a convenient multipurpose audio option that not only delivers excellent audiobook quality, but that reproduces your favorite music also. It works with a variety of direct streaming music services, including wireless options like Apple’s AirPlay 2. The speaker also works with Alexa, so you can ask for what you want, when you want to hear it, be it your favorite book or your favorite album.

There’s nothing like listening to a great book when you’re doing something boring like driving to work, or simply hanging around the house. Listening to your favorite books is also a great way to fall to sleep at night. Unless that is, you’re reading a thriller that’s bound to keep you awake all night. Therefore, listen at your own risk.
