Home Office Design That Brings The Beach To Your Desk Every Day

Many people I know who don’t work from home wish they could. I’ve worked in my home office for many years, and what I think some people don’t realize is that if you want to be successful working from home, you will most likely be behind that computer screen even longer each day than if you were to drive to an office. It’s just how it is, and if I worked in a traditional office, I would probably be on my computer half as much as I am now.

With all that screen time, it’s important to come up with a home office design that’s inspiring and comfortable. The right home office design can change your entire workday when you’re in your house. I love going to the beach, but I don’t get to see the ocean much because of my work schedule. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could incorporate the beach into our home office design? Wouldn’t it be great to feel the sand between your toes each day as you’re doing your work?

Artist Justin Kemp decided to do that, and I can’t get enough of this home office design. He basically put a wooden sandbox underneath his desk. This project, appropriately called “Surfing With The Sand Between My Toes” is so simple yet so brilliant. The only downside I see to this is that you might get sand in other places of your house, but the positive payoff of this beachy design would make that worth it to me.
