Have you ever been casually walking around when an unmistakable urge to camp hits you? Probably not, but if that ever happens, I think I have the right accessory for you. Well, it’s not so much an accessory, it’s more like something you wear. We share a lot of weird stuff here at Bit Rebels, and we are never afraid to take on the most odd and out there things. I don’t know if this is too out there, or if it’s just impractical altogether. Behold the Walking Shelter sneakers.
More accurately, they are a form of sneakers that are turned into something that the creators, a designer collective called Sibling, refers to as the Walking Shelter. I know, it’s probably nothing that an ordinary person would just hop into on their way to work, but you have to agree that this Walking Shelter could have some useful moments. If the shelter itself is packed perfectly, I am sure the tent itself can become almost invisible when added to the shoes, which is something that is not exactly the case right now.
These sneakers could also be quite a unique approach to help catastrophe victims setup a temporary shelter. That has always been a problem when the unfortunate and horrible happens. As you can see, on the outside of these sneakers, you will find a foldable tent that unfolds into a one-man tent within seconds. It doesn’t really look like the most comfortable tent, but the usefulness is still there.
Maybe these shoes could even be an option for the military when they are out in the field. Would they get stuck in all kinds of obstacles? Yes, most likely. Would they have somewhere to stay dry when it rains? Yes, at least everything but the shoes themselves would stay dry. Are they easy to lug around? I have no idea, but they don’t look like something that is skintight around the feet. My overall assessment is that it’s a cool invention, and it will most likely to go viral because of its quirkiness. It’s odd usefulness probably overshadows its own awesomeness. What do you think?
