I recently ran across this phenomenal Mexican artist, Betsabeé Romero. She creates sculptures, carving imagery in old car and truck tires, and often use these pieces to make prints as well. Not only are these carvings beautiful, but they also take a bite out of a growing problem in Mexico City: Lack of recycling.
A quick bio on Romero: She was born in México in ’63, studied at the Bellas-Arts in Paris (France) and in Mexico City, her work has been seen in international galleries and Urban settings from Paris to Brazil.
