I’ve often heard that somewhere up in the universe babies choose their parents. It’s not a random selection or a magical combination of DNA. Although that sounds all fluffy and happy, I don’t necessarily believe that to be true; however, if it were the case, then I suppose those unborn babies should have more of a say in choosing their name too, don’t you think?
Although the Kick to Pick App seems kind of silly, if I was pregnant, I would totally pay a buck just to check it out. It’s a name generator that includes the baby in the selection process. First, you go through the thousands of names and make a list of the ones you would consider naming your baby.
Next, you put your iPhone in “Airplane Mode” (in settings) to block all cellular activity (which supposedly also makes the results more reliable since there will be no interference). Last but not least, you hit the start button and place your iPhone on your baby bump. As it goes through your list of names one by one, it also carefully monitors your baby’s enthusiasm (kicks).
Once it goes through all the possible names you’ve selected, it will let you know your baby’s favorite one. My question is, how do you know if your baby really just had gas or the hiccups? According to the reviews I’ve read, the app needs to be more sensitive, and the name list is a bit limiting. Oh well, like I said, for a buck, I would still be intrigued enough to check it out. This app is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Here is the iTunes link.
