When I logged into Bit Rebels this morning to start writing, I got that uneasy feeling that something was missing from the site. At first I couldn’t put my finger on what it was. After several minutes passed, I figured it out. It was SHOES! I have written dozens of articles about creative shoes, but I haven’t written any in the past few months. How could I let that much time pass without addressing one of my favorite accessories of all time? I immediately went on a hunt to find some super fabulous shoes to share with you today.
I found many different shoe collections of course, but I was searching for something special. I wanted to find something artsy and perhaps created from paper or another everyday material. I was looking for elegant, peaceful, beautiful shoes that might not be worn as shoes, but rather displayed on a shelf for creative inspiration. When I found the paper shoe designs of Isabell Buenz, I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for. Isabell created these shoes for the Dumfries and Galloway Spring Fling and Taster Exhibition in 2010.
These look so fancy and delicate, like something a modern day Cinderella might wear. I would love to have a few of these shoes to display in the glass credenza in my bedroom. You can learn more about Isabell at Isabell Buenz. I found this collection in her Flickr photostream. I’m a big fan of paper and papercraft designs, and I just think these are fabulous!
This pair of shoes is not a design of Isabell Buenz. These pigeon shoes were created by designer Iris Schieferstein. I found them on Virtual Shoe Museum. They are so unusual and interesting, I wanted to include them for you to see.
