I remember back in the day when playing Pokemon was super popular and all the kids on the block were trading those cards. These days, there are a ton of Pokemon variations and spin-off games, but the original Pokemon will always be the best one, or at least in my mind it will be. Even though Pokemon isn’t what all the cool kids are playing anymore, creative artists and digital designers are still very inspired by the legendary pokeball, and I can understand why. There is just something magical about a pokeball, and it’s one of those imaginary things that I always wished was real. Of course, I also wanted to have a real Pikachu living in my house too.
About four months ago, I wrote about an artist named Barry Wazzy (*wazzy88 on deviantART) who uses Photoshop to create the most mystical and beautiful pokeball designs you’ve ever seen. Barry continues to wow people with his newest pokeballs, and I wanted to do a follow up article today to show you some of his latest work.
Every time I look at this pokeball art, it makes me wish so much that they were real. I couldn’t even begin to tell you which one of these is my favorite since I love them all. The colors in the first picture though, which is his newest creation, are truly extraordinary. It’s called The Pokeball of Dark Lugia.
