There are so many blogs created everyday. I believe it’s a good sign that people want to be heard. Everyone has their own reasons for blogging. Some do it because of their inner desire to let others know their opinions on certain subject matter. Others do it as a form of self expression, while others start a blog to journal and share their experiences with others. No matter what your objectives are, wanting to blog is a good start.
Now that you have decided what to write about, the platform to use, the widgets to use and the social icons and logos to set up, one thing that you should really think about now is your “about” page. Some people think about their “about” page last, but I believe it should be the first thing you must think about and give careful attention to. Here are the reasons why:
Reason #1 – Your about page will give your audience the gist of who you are and what you are about.
Reason #2 – Your about page is the summary of your entire blog. This will give your audience a feel of what is to come.
Reason #3 – Your about page will be a part of your online identity. When people search for you and your writing history, what you write on your about page will be part of that compilation.
I know there are a lot of people who have successfully transformed their about page into their online portfolio. There are so many ways to spice up your about page on your blog. You just need to find the time to be creative. Do not take it for granted. Writing your about page must also be a priority, after all, it forms part of your online business card/identity.
