Creative Star Wars Posters in Silhouette

We spotted this excellent series of Star Wars posters while perusing the web and just had to share them with you. Featured on Nerd Approved, the artist created a poster for all six of the Star Wars movies using simple yet elegant silhouettes of characters and scenes from the films.

I really like the minimalist style of these, and while they will obviously appeal to Star Wars fans, they wouldn’t look out of place on any apartment wall. It’s would be a great way to surround yourself with geeky images without alienating any Star Wars indifferent partners, friends or family.

While it’s definitely not my favourite film of the series, I really love the Revenge of the Sith poster. The artist has chosen the perfect image, not only capturing the climax of the film, but also choosing a scene which impacts hugely on the rest of the series, and basically defines the plot of the three original movies. These posters would look great on their own, but work really well as a collection. So if you have a massive Star Wars fan in your life, you could treat him or her to the whole series.

The posters were created by Travis English, and are on sale at Etsy. You can check out more of his work on his portfolio site, The Bear Jedi. In addition to the Star Wars posters, Travis created a huge collection of movie inspired posters including The Big Lebowski, Batman Begins, V for Vendetta and Inception. He even created some inspired by my favourite ’80s films, including The Goonies, Back to the Future and The Dark Crystal. Travis is currently working on a series of Harry Potter inspired posters, and if the first one he completed is anything to go by, it’s going to be another great collection of posters.
