There you are, sitting in front of your computer on a lazy Sunday afternoon. You are in the mood to do something fun, but you really don’t feel like leaving your house. Surely there must be something you can do at home to entertain yourself, right? I have the solution for you. How about polish your fingernails so they look like precious little ripe strawberries?
That’s exactly what Kaylah from The Dainty Squid did, and she even put together this cute tutorial to explain exactly how she did it. I have tried to do nail art like this before, and I can tell you from firsthand experience, it’s not easy. Once you learn how to steady your hand by placing your pinky on the table or your opposite hand for stability while you polish (if that makes sense), it definitely gets easier. However, even with that little trick, freehand polishing when you’re trying to make a specific design is always a challenge, at least for me.
Kaylah’s idea to use tape is brilliant. It makes total sense. I used tape on the walls in my bathroom so I could get a straight line between paint colors when I painted it last summer. Why not take that same “painter’s tape” concept over to our nails? How fun! Once you master the technique, con can also try it out with different colors like this one from Cote.
