How The World Began: Illustrated In Cookie Dough

These little illustrations were printed in the New York Times a few days ago, and they are so precious and sweet, I just had to share them with you here. I don’t know if it’s because most of us love sugar cookies with sprinkles, or just because of how creative it is, but this is sure to bring a smile to your face.

The artist is Christoph Niemann, the very well known creative illustrator who has appeared on the cover of The New Yorker, Newsweek, Wired, The New York Magazine and American Illustration. A while back, we featured his “I Lego N.Y.” design on Bit Rebels.

I remember about a year ago reading an interview with Christoph on Behance called “Christoph Niemann: Short Deadlines make You Think Straight.” He described how he is able to “squeeze the creativity out of him” and how he structures his day to fit everything into his busy schedule. He has outdone himself again with this creative little dough interpretation of how the world began. This isn’t the whole collection. If you would like to see the succession in its entirety, just head on over here to the New York Times.
