Innovative Portable Peephole Design Gives You A 360-Degree View

This is such an innovative little design. How many times have you heard a knock on your hotel door and looked out the peephole only to see a partial view of the hotel hallway? I’ve done it a million times. When you look out the peephole, you can’t see flush up against the wall next to your door. Technically, someone could be waiting on the side there to karate chop you when you open the door. Of course, that would be an extreme situation, but never say never.

This little peephole solution would fix that. It’s a rotating door peephole gadget will allow you to see 360-degrees around the door when you look out. A thief won’t be able to hide along the wall or anywhere around your door. You’ll feel confident whenever you open the hotel door since you’ll know exactly what is happening on the other side.

This is just a concept design right now, but it’s a pretty nifty one. It’s called PEEP, and it was designed by Song Woo-Jung, Lee Da-Wi, Kim Su-Yeon, Choi Yong-Hee and Yeo Hwa-Jung. I’m not exactly sure how it works, but from what I can see, you place it on top of the standard peephole and look through the gadget instead of the peephole, if that makes sense. It’s small enough that it can fit in your pocket, and you can toss it in your bag for when you’re traveling.

What I want to know is how do people think of this stuff in the first place? Who would ever think that we need to have a 360-degree view when we look out a peephole? I mean, it’s a great idea, but that would never cross my mind. I guess a standard peephole is just one of things I’ve always taken for granted, which is a mistake. There are always ways to make the everyday things we use better, and that’s why innovation is so inspiring!
