It’s Over Folks: Star Wars Is Dead!

It has come to a close. Everything has an expiration date, and Star Wars is not immune to it. It’s time to say farewell to the legendary world of George Lucas since there is no one left to keep it at bay. The black hole finally expanded, and everything you hold dear is about to become but an atom in a densely compacted nothingness. It’s over folks, Star Wars is dead. Nah, not at all. How could that ever be possible? I mean, Star Wars will live on forever and ever, and the ones who keep it alive are us, the fans. I am sorry if I had you worried there for a second. I am of course not talking about the franchise itself. No, that would take a far longer and a more sad article to announce, and we are not doing that today.

Artist and illustrator Jeff Hulligan imagined what we all never want to see. It’s a Star Wars world filled with corpses and a future that looks anything but bright. It’s a dark and ominous picture of how life perishes to the ion lasers that bury themselves in our most highly respected heroes. Jeff put together a series of images that portrays Boba Fett, Darth Vader, R2D2, C-3PO and a few others in their ultimate demise, dead.

It’s a hair-raising experience to check out his art, but of course, in a war there are casualties. We never like it, but I guess this is a look into the “real” world of Star Wars. These illustrations and drawings are available for purchase if you feel the need to frame the visual of, for example, an x-wing pilot that has perished to the turrets of the Death Star. It’s a little bit too sour for my taste; however, I am totally impressed by the perspective and the guts it took to put this series together. Now you start the questions about if there really is life after death.
