Life Is Beautiful: An Art Installation Created By Stabbing Knives

Materials that we can use to create art are all around us all the time. Unless you are living in an airtight bubble, there aren’t very many exceptions to this rule. That is one thing I’ve learned from writing here at Bit Rebels for almost three years. The scope of what art is, and what it can be made with, have tremendously expanded in recent years. My guess would be this is partly because of all the creative inspiration that is available to us online. One person’s idea leads to another leads to another, and before you know it, we are featuring an installation that will make you look twice with curiosity and wonder.

For example, here is a toaster made out of toast. Each piece had to be toasted just right to make the colors come together like the artist wanted. Also, here is Darth Vader made out of salt. Why would someone make a Darth Vader out of salt? Well, why not? I could go on and on since we’ve written about so many of these types of creative masterpieces.

Today I’d like to share with you the work of Farhad Moshiri. He created this humongous Life Is Beautiful script on an art gallery wall. What you might not realize at first glance is that he created it using hundreds of knives which he stabbed directly into the wall. Of course, the knives are a symbolic representation of that statement which is full of paradox. I wonder if he drew the words on the wall with a pencil or something first so he would have a guide for where to stab the knives. I don’t see any lines between the knives. It’s very creative, that’s for sure!
