We are no strangers to food art at Bit Rebels. If you do a little poking around in a quick search on this site, you’ll see that what some people create with their food is truly captivating. The Watermelon Death Star will always be my favorite, well, aside from the Yoda Cake of course. I don’t know what it is about food that inspires artists so much. Maybe creating food designs makes them feel like rebels since it goes against what we are taught as children. I probably heard my mother tell me a hundred times not to play with my food when I was growing up.
Just when I thought I had seen it all when it comes to food designs, I found these Oreo cookie cameo portraits. I have so many questions about these. First of all, where does someone even get the idea to make a design from the icing on the inside of an Oreo? I mean, I get it that standard dunking-in-milk procedure requires twisting the top and the bottom apart to reveal the cream, but making portraits from that? This has got to be one of the most creative things I’ve seen in a while, and I’ve seen a lot.
The designer, Judith G. Klausner, says the only material used to create this was an Oreo cookie, nothing else. Now it’s time to even further blow your mind. In addition to creating this art, Judith also makes condiment wallpaper by squirting yellow mustard, ketchup, jam and barbecue sauce on paper. And, last but not least, she creates flower arrangements from nail clippings and baby teeth. I know, you are gagging right now, right? Well, just get a glass of warm milk and a handful of Oreos. I’m sure that will make you feel all better.
