Pop Culture Art Created By Copying Phrases Thousands Of Times

If you like playing with words, I just know you are going to love this particular creative creation. Pop culture art has long been a topic of interest for hipsters and geeks. The various art pieces that we consider to be some of the most impressive pop culture art are usually quite simple and straight forward. Sometimes it’s more about the unique way it’s executed that draws us in. I have to admit though that I personally think some of the pop culture art that is available today is quite boring. It lacks that sense of depth to it. But what do I know, right? I am just a geek writing about something that someone has spent thousands of words and many hours creating.

In this case though, I must say I am very impressed. At first, these art pieces might just look like regular pop culture art to some of you, and maybe even to all of you. It certainly did to me, but then I was exposed to the reality of this creation. The reality is that these were created out of single phrases that the person created with them has either said, or phrases connected to the subject in some way.

The artist, Huy Lam, took these words, carefully picked colors and angles, and then cut and pasted until they formed exactly what he had in mind. It was a painstakingly long process that I think anyone who is anywhere near sane would just give up on before even beginning. I am amazed by the fact that even when zoomed out, these pop culture art pieces have a distinct uniqueness to them that I haven’t seen before. They feel fresh but at the same time familiar. I don’t know if you know what I am talking about, but you have to agree that they are beyond impressive. These are pop culture art pieces that I would totally hang on my wall. With a $100 price tag, this could be some quite interesting wall art for the linguist geek’s office, or just an epic collection of art pieces for your living room.
