One of the best parts of the holidays is baking cookies. Usually during the holidays, I bake traditional Christmas cookies. This year was a little different since I didn’t have time to buy any holiday cookie cutters. Instead, I’ve just been making all kinds of different shaped cookies. I just did a search here on Bit Rebels for posts about cookies, and I couldn’t believe how many came up. This isn’t a food blog, but we are definitely fans of cookies!
My favorite cookie article is about these superhero gingerbread cookies that Richard wrote about. I also like these classic 8-bit pixelated cookies, but I tried making those, and it was a teeny-weeny bit complicated to get the pixels to come out just right. Of course, I’m also a fan of these creative Star Wars and Star Trek cookies. I couldn’t leave those off the list for sure! And, last but not least, If you are trying to initiate a heart attack, you might consider making these chocolate covered deep friend triple double Oreos. There are tons more articles on Bit Rebels about cookies, and if you do a quick search for the word cookies, you might feel the sugar rush to your brain.
Today’s cookie article is really more about decorating a cookie than baking it. Cindy over at Skip to my Lou made these precious little Rudolph reindeer cookies, and I thought they might give us the inspiration we need to make our own this week! The recipe along with the decorating instructions can be found on her post called Rudolph Cookies. I would never think to use a candy corn cookie cutter and pretzels to make Rudolph cookies. They are so creative, and I bet they taste yummy too!
