According to The Hunger Games website, the official launch of the movie which everyone is talking about starts in 10 hours and 25 minutes. I haven’t been this excited to watch a new movie in a long time, but it’s sold out everywhere in Atlanta for the foreseeable future. Maybe if I’m lucky, I can get in to see it at an obscure time next week, like 2:00 on Tuesday or sometime random like that.
I haven’t read the books, and I’m glad. I want to go in and see the movie fresh, without doing that comparison thing we do in our minds when we’ve read a book first and then watched the movie. I thought the next best thing to seeing The Hunger Games tonight at midnight when it’s released would be to write about it today.
To make it even sweeter, we’ll add a little Simpsons to the mix. We’ve seen The Simpsons mashed up with popular movies before. My favorite one before this is probably The Simpsons mashup with LOTR. This time around, it’s the collaboration between Old Red Jalopy and Next Movie who have brought us characters from The Hunger Games as if they were relatives of The Simpsons. It’s an interesting combination, and it makes me want to see the movie even more. They say this is going to be the hottest movie of the year, and guess we are all about to see if that’s true!
