Someday when you have time, consciously check out the area all around you and look for the different typography inspiration. I love doing it, it keeps me inspired. I love typography. Just imagine the number of designers that have conceptualized, designed and executed the different signs and word art that we take for granted since they seem to have been there forever.
For those of you who are wondering what typography is, Typography is the art and technique of arranging type, type design, and modifying type glyphs. Type glyphs are created and modified using a variety of illustration techniques. The arrangement of type involves the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, leading (line spacing), adjusting the spaces between groups of letters (tracking) and adjusting the space between pairs of letters (kerning).
The labels you see, the signage on the billboards, posters, the theater marquee, all represent the work of a designer. I have put together some very interesting photos that I hope will inspire you.
