Vintage Cameras Redesigned As Fabulous Night Lights

What do you do with your gadgets when they become obsolete? A lot of people I know give their old stuff to their children when they decide to upgrade. As a result, you might be surprised at how many kids who aren’t old enough to drive have iPhones.

What about old cameras? Just the other day I wrote an article about sounds that children today will never hear. One of those sounds was a flash cube on a retro camera. I’ve never seen one of those in real life, but they sure look neat in the pictures. To me, almost all vintage cameras are just so interesting to look at, and I wish I had saved my old cameras throughout the years.

As you know, here at Bit Rebels, we love not only recycling but repurposing. Anytime someone gives a new life and new purpose to something otherwise considered old and useless, it’s worth celebrating. Jason Hull figured out a way to repurpose vintage cameras into these super fabulous night lights. The moment I saw them, I knew I had to share them with you. Of course, each one is one-of-a-kind and holds a lot of special memories for someone. I wonder where he gets all the cameras to make these. You can see more pictures on Jayfish’s flickr. He had one for sale in his Etsy store up until yesterday, but that one is gone now. According to flickr, he plans to have a few more available soon. Very nice!
