For These Kids The Neverending Story Never Ended

I remember when I saw the movie Neverending Story for the very first time.  I was mesmerized, and I can still watch that movie just to get that retro kick out of it (yeah yeah, so bully me will ya).  It’s an iconic movie that most of us remember.  It has somewhat of a Ghostbusters-feel if you know what I mean.

The 80s produced some truly amazing movies, and I just wish someone would pick up the same camera as used back then, write an 80s style script, and make a kickass movie just like before, the retro way.  The feel of the movies back then was totally different, and sometimes I want that back, even if just for one more movie.  But then again, I am sure that the kids of today will feel the exact same about all the movies that are created now.  Lord Of The Rings will definitely be one of those movies, not to mention Transformers and… well the list could be long.

For some kids, the movie Neverending Story never really ended.  As a matter of fact, it became a nightmare that they had a hard time getting over.  They even daydream about it, get counseling about it, and that’s not all.  One of them apparently killed himself because of it.  Well, calm down, it’s all fun and play you know.  This awesome YouTube clip makes fun of the characters in the movie and does it in a brilliant way.  Just have a look for yourself, and tell me what you think.  That back flip comes in the end though.  Apparently there are more movie characters that have a hard time adjusting to reality.  I wonder if I have a case of paranoia about 80s movies.  Hmm…
