2 Years In The Making | Star Wars LEGO Space Ship

“Patience is a virtue” as the saying goes. And indeed it is, the more the better. I want to think I sport a good portion of it, but compared to Paul Yperman, I guess I am not even on the scale. Someone that takes 2 years to get things right has to have some divine ideas about perfection and focus. But then again, 30,000 pieces of LEGOs in the right place probably takes a while to gather and connect, so maybe 2 years is a short period of time after all.

Paul Yperman entered a book shop a few years ago only to find himself buying a Star Wars Cross Section book. He studied the book through and through and got stuck at the picture of a Star Wars Droid Control Ship. It blew his mind and he just had to try and build it using only LEGOs as his tool.

He found a software on the Internet that helped him figure out the orb in the middle and then he continued from there. 30,000 pieces later and 2 years of building, he was finished. The God sent idea was finally done, and as a result, he constructed one of the worlds most elaborate Star Wars LEGO creations. Forget the small 200 piece builds you can buy off the shelf. This one was carefully executed and took some custom ordering to fit the purpose.

Drawing some of his inspiration from another master builder, Thomas Benedict, he managed to create a truly magnificent and legendary build that will most likely enter LEGO Builds Hall of Fame. All I can say is that I, for one, am looking forward to his next build…
