There have been many Batmobile builds throughout the years, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone who has built a Batmobile, a Mystery Machine (Scooby-Doo), Mater the tow truck (Cars), KITT (Knight Rider) and many other famous cars, trucks and vans. Jerry Patrick, who lives here in Georgia, has an obsession with building replicas that look like famous cars from television shows and movies. He’s currently working on Bumblebee (Transformers).
This collection is massive, and these pictures are incredible. I’d love to hop in that Mystery Machine and take it for a spin. I’d have to cosplay geeky girl Velma at the same time of course (don’t tell me if you’re a Daphne fan). Jerry and his team have been customizing these cars and trucks for over 25 years. These detailed builds don’t materialize overnight though. For example, the Batmobile you see below took three years to make. The machine guns don’t fire real bullets of course, but there is real fire and smoke that comes out the back.
He typically buys the cars he uses off the Internet (Craigslist, eBay), and he usually works on a few of them at the same time. He makes a lot of the parts he needs from scratch, and you can tell this is a labor of love for him. You might be wondering if he actually drives these famous cars, and sometimes he does. When he takes them out on the road though, he usually has chase cars all around just to be on the safe side. I’m blown away by this collection. There are 69 photos in all, and I just chose 15 to share with you here. You can click on the link below to see the entire gallery. Enjoy!
