These liquid lights are so inspiring on so many different levels. Tanya Clarke created them to remind us about how precious water is, and how we need to protect this natural resource.
Can you tell what they are made from by looking at them? Probably not. They are designed from recycled plumbing hardware and other found objects that Tanya collects on the beach in California.
Each glass drop is hand sculpted. There are also LED lights incorporated into each installation. Each light is unique and stunning. According to Liquid Light, 5% of all Liquid Light purchases go towards the education and action on global water justice issues. I don’t know if Tanya intended these to look steampunky or not, but they sure do. I love how they look, and I love what the represent even more. I wouldn’t mind having a few of these for my office. They look peaceful, calm, beautiful and funky to me.
