Drivable Life-Size LEGO Go-Kart For Adrenaline Junkies

Today is Sunday, and we are all looking forward to a new week of hard work, right? Well, I guess I won’t get many people to agree with me on that one. It was worth a shot I guess. Anyway, a Sunday like this could definitely use a little fun, don’t you think? Seasoned LEGO fanatics seem to have the greatest fun on weekends. They tinker with their LEGO ideas and create the most unearthly creations. This drivable life-size LEGO go-kart is one of those. It can’t really be described, it has to be driven.

When was the last time you drove your LEGO build? Oh, never? Well, you should definitely hang out with LEGO pioneer Simon Burfield then. He created an insane LEGO wheelchair not too long ago, but now he’s back with this sweet LEGO go-kart ride. I honestly didn’t think you could create anything life-size that was drivable. Of course, I thought that someone “could,” but not anything that made any sense. This LEGO go-kart totally makes all the sense in the world, don’t you think?

It is, as they say, ‘if you build it, it will run,’ right? Or maybe that was ‘…they will come.’ It doesn’t really matter, this awesome LEGO go-kart build is a sight for sore eyes. Imagine busting this badboy out on a lazy Sunday morning. The sheer sight of it would make your adrenaline start pumping. The thing is, it is quite fast as well. What I mean is that when compared to other life-size drivable LEGO creations, this is by far the fastest one I have seen.

Sure, you would have to take it a little bit easy when getting seated in it. After all, you don’t want it to break, right? The specs are quite impressive as well. It’s best described by the builder himself:

It is powered by 16 XL PF motors, 8 rechargeable power functions battery packs. The steering is controlled via an NXT. It uses 20 EXO-FORCE Lego Wheels. I built this over Christmas as a way to put my yellow studded Lego to use.
