This Is The World’s Largest Collection Of Video Game Memorabilia

I think there are a lot of people out there who love calling themselves the ultimate collector. Even the title “ultimate gamer” would carry most people through the day. But when it comes to video game memorabilia, there are few people who can boast about having the largest collection. As a matter of fact, there’s only one such person in the world. You might have a few boxes of cool and old retro games scattered around your basement, but I doubt you will have a chance at beating the world’s largest collection which was recently entered into the Guinness Book of World Records. If you ever decide you want to beat this record, you would have to add more than 8,030 unique video game items to your collection.

Just to give you a little scope of what it will take to accumulate such an incredible load of memorabilia, here are a few numbers. First of all, it will most likely take you the better part of your life to collect all this. On top of that, in order to purchase enough items to build the world’s largest collection, expect to spend at least $100,000 before you’ll even come close to beating this record. Your kids will most likely love you for it, but that wife of yours might not feel the same excitement.

The current world record holder is Brett Martin from Colorado, USA. His collection is not only massive, but eye-popping as well. Boasting 8,030 items, this collection takes up the better part of his house. It seemingly consists of mostly Super Mario items, and it almost makes your head start spinning. The world’s largest collection of video game memorabilia is definitely a feat. Just keeping track of everything must be a full time job. Oh, and it helps to start early. Brett started collecting his video game memorabilia when he was just 8 years old back in 1989. If you haven’t even started yet, it’s about time to get going.
