The choice of which packaging to use for your product can have every effect on sales, and choosing the wrong one can potentially destroy a whole carefully planned marketing campaign. However, being creative and going for the right one can spawn an avalanche effect and make the whole thing go viral in a matter of minutes. Creating the ultimate packaging for your product is anything but easy, and it will most likely take you a long time before you think it’s ready for the masses. As always, there are some things you can think about when designing the package that will become synonymous with your product. The first one is of course to be creative and think outside the box.
That’s exactly what an innovative artist in Dusseldorf named Jorn did when he created a pretty awesome lineup called “Ecohols.” It’s basically some pretty famous liquor brands repackaged into milk cartons. It’s not only funny but quite daring as well. It punches you in the face sort of, saying we’re all drunks who literally drink gallons of alcohol just like we do with milk, or something along those lines I would reckon.
This is a perfect example of how to create packaging that really stands out and possibly could go viral. It caught my eye, and as you are reading this, it caught yours as well. The funny thing is, I don’t think that this thing is too far away from being realized. I mean, wine is already in boxes so why wouldn’t liquor be too, right? Would you rather pickup a carton of Absolut Vodka instead of the old bottle version? I guess if the price is right, people would go for the carton since it would be easier to transport. Also, it would be more environmentally friendly. However, I would totally feel weird watching someone pour a glass of Vodka from a carton, wouldn’t you?
