Real Time Game Music – Super Mario Awesomeness!

Just when you thought you’d seen it all when it comes to people playing the tunes from the legendary cult games we all remember from our youth, something comes along that changes the stage forever. I remember not too long ago someone, I don’t remember where I saw it or who it was, played the über recognizable tune from Super Mario Bros. on glasses filled with water in a garage. Not too long after that, I saw someone playing the same tune on a guitar but in an odd way using just a punch technique.

I guess that wasn’t enough for the YouTube community since someone went ahead and started messing about with it and came up with a new way of playing that tune. What could be more impressive than someone playing the tune in real time while someone is playing the game? And, that’s with sound effects and all. All in one simultaneous pass, and it’s quite impressive if you ask me.

When you think about it, it must take some serious skills to even play that darn background music on a violin. On top of that, playing the sound effects at the same time is just what we geeks enjoy the most it seems. Since it’s now been seen by over 1.1 million people – it can’t be anything other than geektastic. Huge props!
