Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Festivus or any other holiday this season, we all have one thing in common – we like to add a little holiday cheer into everything we do, right? ‘Tis the season to mashup even the oddest, most unusual things with icons from the season. One of the funniest little mashups I’ve seen this season so far is the one I caught on @TheDudeDean‘s Twitter stream a few days ago. This is what it would be like if tech companies were Christmas icons.
This is hilarious. I can’t stand Facebook, so it’s fitting that Facebook is fruitcake. Apple is definitely like Rudolf, and there couldn’t be a better Grinch than Instagram in lieu of the most recent Instagram and Twitter battle. Poor Amazon is working harder than ever and Google is most definitely the creepy Santa Claus. Google really does know if you belong on the naughty or nice list. And, Microsoft makes the best abominable snowman ever.
This tech companies graphic was created at The Joy of Tech by Nitrozac and Snaggy, and it will definitely put a big smile on your face. I can think of many more tech companies and Christmas icons that would go well together too. Once you start thinking about it, it just goes on and on. How about Quora could be eggnog? It’s the holiday drink everyone has in their refrigerator but nobody actually uses it. Myspace could be those Christmas lights you untangled and hung for the third year in a row. It’s a site that just keeps coming back for more, and somehow always ends up shining brightly. I’m sure you can think of a ton more.
