Our narrow-minded way of confining ourselves in massive offices where creativity is usually sparse is beyond me. We can send people to the moon and back and yet we can’t come up with a more creative way to house employees for their daily work sessions. It’s like we’re not even trying to find an alternate solution for it. Maybe it is just that it’s working, and that is enough for us. Well, we have seen some new development in this area, and it comes from IT companies around the world. At least they are trying to mix it up a little bit by putting more “play” into the daily grind. Surely there must be other ways to get out of those boxes and into nature where inspiration is unlimited, right?
I recently stumbled over an interesting compilation of work pods that could stand as a temporary solution. It consists of 14 work pods that are placed in the outside world, if I may call it that. They are fashioned to meet the very highest of creativity needs, and they will most likely increase your inspiration to work by at least ten fold. Some of these are actually quite awesome, if I may say so myself. They are both futuristic and old school in a way. I have no idea if that makes sense or not, but they give off a certain inspiring radiation.
They are all from different companies and are all created for different purposes. They all have one thing in common, and that is to enable you to detach yourself from the monotone work environment in your usual office building and take you on a creativity adventure out in the wild. I have seen some of these actually being positioned inside work buildings, and I must say, even though that seems to defeat their purpose, it still enables you to get a bit of peace of mind by cocooning yourself away for a minute. How cool would it be to assemble an entire Ewok village with some of these pods as an outside office? That, if anything, would make your community or clients remember you, right? It’s all about the first impression, people. That means everything!
