5 Fun Things To Do With Friends

Whether you’ve known each other for a long time or are just getting acquainted, there are many ways to hang out with friends other than just going to a restaurant. Something different that gets you moving, creating or thinking together helps build stronger bonds between people. And some of these suggestions are better ways to get to know people than simply talking because they provide unique experiences.

1. Solve A Challenge In An Escape Room

When meeting new people, learning how they communicate, solve problems, and react to challenges is important. And a fun way to do that is by going to an escape room and trying to solve the mystery or challenge within an hour.

But it’s also been a hit with friends, college groups, businesses, and sports teams. Friends have played games with each other since the beginning of human history, and they’re a big part of one’s early life. That’s why playing games as adults can be fun stress relief. Escape rooms can accommodate from 2 to even 30 people, with enough advance notice.

2. Get Artsy

There are a variety of options for those who love to work with their hands and get a little messy. Nowadays there is an abundance of studios that offer paint night parties. Some of these are BYOB or BYOW (bring your own wine), whereas others may accept only cash to access their alcoholic beverage choices. You and your friends can sip and create your own masterpieces to hang on your wall at home!

But there’s also local glassblowing, glass fusing, ceramics, and even some cool niche things you can try, like blacksmithing. These classes are often taught by professional artists who have vibrant stories and a wealth of knowledge to share. Check out local studios, and you and your friends may come home with something cool that you made!

3. Check Out A Microbrewery

Microbreweries are popping up everywhere, and many offer tours and workshops to teach local residents about the product they’re proud of. After all, many of their ales may have ingredients that come from the local city, county, or from around the state.

You may learn a bit of history, too, before sitting down and enjoying a flight with your friends, and testing out what your local craft beer tastes like. The Home Brew Shop is an ideal destination for starting your own craft beer brewing, offering supplies to experiment with local flavors.

4.  Take A Tour

That’s right, be a tourist in your own town. If you’ve lived there for many years, pick a tour that you and your friends haven’t done yet. Is there a boat tour, bus tour, or even a tour of a local historical house near you? Chances are, yes, there is! These types of outings are a change of pace and give you a deeper appreciation for the area where you live.

5.  Visit A Nature Trail With Your Friends

If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to hang out with your friends, many nature trails and arboretums are either free or cost a small fee. Going outside has been linked with improved mental health and overall wellbeing.

It’s a relaxing way to spend time talking with another person, and being away from a lot of distractions allows you to listen to each other more, and be more present. Keep in mind that you can mix and match a lot of these ideas. You can easily go to an escape room and pair it with lunch or dinner, or celebratory drinks even.
