10 Famous Pairs Of Glasses Recognizable Without Anyone Wearing Them

When it comes to creating your personal style, there are a lot of ways to go about it. I don’t need to wear prescription eyeglasses, but I have several pairs that I alternate just for fun. My favorite barista at Starbucks takes her glasses one step further, and she wears them without any lenses. There are a lot of pop culture personalities that we associate with certain eyeglasses. This is a collection of ten famous pairs of glasses that you’ll probably recognize.

All of these glasses are part of a collection of minimalist art created by Federico Mauro. There are more pairs of glasses in this collection, and you can see them by checking out his Behance page. Each one of these is so iconic that if anyone other than the person we know wore them, it would seem odd.

For example, could anyone else in the world pull off wearing the iconic Morpheus glasses? I don’t think so. I’ve seen pictures of Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn wearing the famous Elton John glasses you see below, and both times it looked strange to me. Once these glasses become part of the personality we know, it sticks, just like any other part of a personality.

I was trying to think of other famous pairs of glasses, and I thought of Horatio Caine’s glasses on CSI Miami, Arnold’s glasses in The Terminator and of course Bono’s colored glasses. Bono wears his famous colored lensed glasses to protect his blue eyes, which are very light sensitive. He also admits though that he wears them a little for vanity and privacy too. What other famous pairs of glasses can you think of? This is a fun collection. Enjoy!
