Add Some Happy Sunshine To Your Life Today!

If there is one thing I will always remember about the winter of 2011, it will be the unseasonably cold weather. Here in the south, we aren’t used to it being so cold for so long, and I’m very excited for spring to come back! Yesterday, we got a glimpse of it. It was sunny and beautiful outside. It was warm enough to just wear a t-shirt and open the sunroof on the car. I was bee-bopping around and giggling all day long. Is it true that sunshine can really make us happy?

It is true that vitamin D, which we get from the sun, is an upper. I set out on a search for information to find out if sunshine can really make us happier. I found this article on Tween Tribune which shows the results of a study that confirms people who live in sunshiny states (in the U.S.) are happiest. It is no surprise that people who live in Hawaii and Florida are amongst the happiest people in the country. However, it doesn’t say that it’s the sunshine itself that causes the happiness.

It is hard to believe that the sun could change our mood so dramatically, but based on my own feelings, I’m going to choose to believe it does.
