We love food at Bit Rebels. I used to write a lot about people who play with their food, and now I’ve shifted a little to creative food designs. The most unique article out of all of the food ones to me is the post with the photographs of people who are about to go insane while holding Jello. Since I think anyone who actually eats Jello must border on insanity anyway, those pictures are a lot of fun in a strangely sarcastic way.
One thing I haven’t seen before today is an artist who doesn’t create designs with food, but rather he creates designs with what the food usually goes on. In other words, Jean-Francois De Witte is a dishes designer. He doesn’t just have fun with dishes either; he also uses cups, cutlery, salt and pepper shakers and other small everyday things you might find in your kitchen.
It’s interesting to see how some of these photographs are taken from above, which gives a whole new perspective to the props. Suddenly cups become bubbles and shakers become eyes. You can see more of Jean-Francois’ photography and designs on his website. These pictures make me smile. My favorite one is definitely the sugar bowl with the spoons in it. For some reason, that one reminds me of WALL-E.
